The colour dispersions are carried out in batches. Batches are then blended to make a standard shade. In process testing is carried out on batches as well as the standard shade. The pigment pastes produced are compared with a standard sample from a master lot.
Finally the comparison is done to check if the shade matches the standard lot. This testing involves making of a fibre glass laminate, epoxy potting and foaming or other end products from the standard sample as well as from the produced lot and then comparing the results. The comparison is done using the colour computer as the human eye cannot distinguish minute colour differences.
Our customer-driven corporate planning gave us early realisation that unlike in pigment pastes for FRP etc., having computer controlled colour matching equipment is not enough in the case of PU pigments. We therefore went ahead and set up our in-house test foaming laboratory.
The plant is based on an in-house design tailored to suit our specific needs.
